Why walking is good for you

More and more of us spend our days sitting at a computer desk working long hours and it has a negative impact on our physical and mental health. Anyone who regularly works outside like a gardener who has Briggs And Stratton Parts available for when a mower breaks down will tell you how positive it can be to work and spend time outside, obviously not when it is pouring down with rain or freezing cold.

Here are some of the ways that walking can be good for you.

Cardiovascular health – walking is good for your heart and you can increase your heart rate by walking faster and up a gradual incline. This helps to keep your entire cardiovascular system healthy whilst not putting too much strain on it. It is the perfect form of exercise for people who may be lightly unfit or who are thinking of getting back into exercise after an injury or who have a medical condition.

Muscle tone & Strengthen – muscle tone and muscle strength can both be increased by walking. Again this doesn’t have to be strenuous walking but by regularly walking each day, even a  small distance you will start to notice that the muscles in your legs, arms and your core started to become stronger.

Mental health – we all know that exercise is good for our mental health and so is being outside in nature so a great way to combine these is to go for an ice long walk.
