Climate change is something that we can no longer avoid – even people burying their heads in the sand will have heard a lot about the impact of climate change over recent years and the threat that it poses to the whole planet. There are things that everyone can do and changes that we can make to the way that we live to help fight against this. Here are a few ideas…
Recycle – As well as making sure that we recycle household waste like cardboard packaging we can also reuse items. For example, the bottoms of milk cartons make excellent planters for growing seeds in and you could upcycle old clothes into something you can use. There are many tutorials online for this, so be creative and have fun with it!
Reduce Plastic – Plastic is one of the biggest threats to the ecosystem and in particular the oceans of the world. Be mindful of how you can reduce plastic usage – for example look for alternative products such as this Bamboo Toothbrush from Bambooth and buy things that use cardboard packaging rather than plastic as much as possible.
Eating Seasonally – Food that has travelled a long way to be with us is not the best thing for the environment. Eating seasonally is a good way to reduce the carbon footprint of what we eat. Grow your own food, or order directly from local farmers and farm shops which will also benefit small local businesses.
