Choosing the Right Estate Agent to Sell your Property

There are lots of things to consider when you are selling your home. One of the most important things to do is to ensure that you choose the right estate agent. Having a look into all the options that are available to you before you begin your property hunt, and before you put your property on the market.

When you start your search, make sure that you make a list of all the estate agents that you want to speak to. Look for local agents like this Stroud estate agents tgres.co.uk/office-locations/stonehouse-estate-agents/ as they will have a good idea of the property market in your particular area. The experience of meeting with an estate agent should be positive, so if you are not feeling like it is, then that is not the right agent for you.

Remember, it is in both yours and the estate agents best interests to get a good price for your home – you will want to make sure that you get the best price and the agent will take a commission (they will explain how this works to you when you meet with them) based on the price that the property sells for, so you both have the same incentive to sell for the best price and also to do it quickly.

When you are comparing local estate agents, look at ones that sell properties like yours in your area, and the prices that they sell for. See how quickly the properties are sold too. Look at their experience in the area and with certain types of property – neighbours may be able to recommend estate agents to you.

Another thing to do is go onto a site like Rightmove and compare the agents on there – look at things like property descriptions and photos that are taken. Photos that are clear and show the property in its best light, as well as a well written description of the property will attract more viewings, so pay attention to this.

You can also ask estate agents questions themselves about the types of properties that they have sold, whether they accompany people on a viewing, and how many homes they sold for the asking price for example.
