Planning – it can be difficult for people with depression to commit to activities and so it can be a good idea to plan for other eventualities. If you had planned to go for a meal out, be prepared to have some food at home in case they are not feeling up to leaving their home on the day.

Patience – although it can be hard it is important that you try to be as patient as possible. This may mean ensuring that you have more than enough time to carry out any chores you need or to plan in your activities so that you are able to manage any situations that arise.
