Bamboo is a grass, which means that it grows very close to the ground in order to feed from it. As such, it can be grown almost anywhere in your backyard, in the ocean, in lakes, ponds, and other bodies of water. However, because bamboo doesn’t have a hardy nature like most plants do, it is best to keep an eye on its drainage and access to sunlight.
